Congratulations go to Meadowpark School for taking 1st place in a local competition! Seventy schools took part in Swindon’s Beat the Street, an initiative to get fitter, and Meadowpark School tapped their way to the top of the average leaderboard.
Twenty-three players from our school participated in the fun challenge that transformed Swindon into a giant game! Both the children and their families, enjoyed walking, cycling and scooting around Swindon, tapping beat boxes and discovering the local area. During the 6 week period taking place from 12 September to 24 October, Meadowpark finished with an average of 1,913 points per player taking 1st place in the Average Points category. Overall, 32,488 people took part and travelled 313,353 miles – an equivalent of travelling from Swindon to the Moon.
The Meadowpark School team was also very proud that one of their members was awarded 16th place for an individual points total. Well done, Meadowpark and thank you PTA for getting us involved!
