A message from Mrs Kular 04/05/2020

I hope you and your family are all keeping well and finding some rhythm in your new routine.

The latest news about the pandemic is hopeful in that the curve has flattened and seems to be going down.

As we enter the month of May, the nursery still sadly remains closed. No fees will be charged while we are closed and parents with children in the nursery will not be invoiced for May. I will keep parents updated if the government sends us any advice about the possibility of re-opening.

The nursery staff and I are missing the children and I know all the children are missing their Meadowpark friends. So it was lovely to see so many of you join our virtual get togethers last week. We had four separate Zoom sessions and staff and children from the babies to our pre-school age children were able to share with each other what we have all been doing. It would be great to see your child’s art work so please post on our Facebook page.

If you need more ideas on how to keep your children entertained, we have a list of links and free resources in the parents’ area. Registration is required.

In our school, pupils are busy immersed in distance learning. It was fantastic to see all our children in the virtual school assemblies we held last week.

Visiting the Google classrooms, I have been astounded by the calibre of work I have witnessed children sending back daily to their teachers to be marked and I would like to thank the parents for guiding and supporting the children.

Some children seem to be working harder than ever as I have been informed that they are fast filling up their school exercise books! If your child is nearing the end of his/her exercise books, you may use your own. WHSmiths also have some in stock. Under the circumstances, teachers will accept work done no matter how it is sent in. The teachers are showing a formidable level of stamina and finding so many diverse ways of engaging the children. If parents wish to share their views and suggestions, our online survey has been extended to the end of this week.

VE Day

Friday 8th May is a Bank Holiday so there will not be any online learning set.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need advice or I can help in any way.
